Have You Ever Actually Renounced Something In Your Life

4 min read

There is something peaceful about learning how to renounce.

Not everything deserves another conversation. Not every relationship deserves another opportunity. Not every habit deserves another excuse. And not every version of yourself deserves to accompany you into the next chapter of your life. Sometimes you have to let it go...just let it goooooo....

To renounce something means to intentionally give it up, reject it, or withdraw your allegiance from it. Yes, your allegiance!!!

I believe there is a deeper meaning to renouncing when you begin to understand the value of your peace, the importance of your spiritual alignment, and the responsibility you have to the person you are becoming.

Sometimes, growth requires more than acknowledging what is no longer good for you. It requires making a conscious decision to stop participating in it all together even when it hurts....

You cannot keep asking God for a new season while remaining committed to everything that belongs to the old one. There will be no room for the new one.

Renouncing Is an Act of Self-Respect to me after the chaos life has thrown at me.

We often talk about what we want to attract into our lives, we pray about our needs and desires, but how often do we talk about what we need to release?

We pray for peace but entertain chaos. We ask for healthy relationships but continue negotiating our boundaries. We desire discipline but remain attached to habits that contradict our goals.

Renouncing doesn't always mean you hate something or someone. It doesn't mean you have to carry resentment, bitterness, or hostility. It does not mean you are at war.

Sometimes, renouncing simply means you have made peace with the fact that something no longer belongs in your life.

And perhaps most importantly, you can outgrow a version of yourself without apologizing for becoming someone different.

I AM HER: Becoming Requires a Decision

This is one of the principles behind my workbook, I AM HER.

I created this workbook from the perspective of transformation, self-awareness, personal responsibility, and the work that goes into becoming the woman I desired to be and decided to put it out there to help others.

Being HER isn't about pretending to have everything figured out. It isn't about perfection, appearances, or convincing the world that your life is extraordinary.

It's about doing the internal work.

It's about examining your thought patterns, challenging the beliefs that keep you stagnant, recognizing your worth, and taking accountability for the choices that shape your life.

It's understanding that the woman you are becoming requires participation from the woman you are today.

You cannot simply speak a new identity into existence and refuse to do the work that supports it. Faith without works is dead forreal.

Sometimes, the most empowering thing you can say is:

"I no longer agree with the things that once had permission to define me."

That is where intentional transformation begins.

A Little Gratitude, A Little Celebration, and a Whole Lot of Faith!

And speaking of new chapters, I have a milestone worth celebrating!

I am excited and incredibly grateful to announce that I have received my first royalties from I AM HER!

Not only that, but my book has also been added to Walmart.com!

Now, some people may see these as small business milestones, but I see so much more behind them.

I see the hours of writing, the ideas that wouldn't leave me alone, the lessons learned through experience, the courage to put my work into the world, and the faith required to keep creating even when I couldn't see the outcome.

As an author, poet, and resilience life coach, I understand that the work doesn't always come with immediate recognition or financial reward.

Sometimes you create because the message matters. Sometimes you publish because someone needs what you have written. And sometimes, you get a little reminder that the seeds you've planted are beginning to produce something.

Receiving my first royalties is one of those reminders.

Being listed on Walmart.com is another.

I am grateful for every person who has supported my work, purchased a copy, shared my message, or encouraged me along the way. Every purchase matters, and every opportunity to put meaningful resources into someone's hands is appreciated.

I don't take any of it for granted.

Your Next Chapter Needs Your Participation

If there is one thing I hope you take away from this message, it is this:

Renounce the mindset that tells you you're incapable of change.

Renounce the need to keep proving your worth to people who have already decided not to recognize it.

Renounce the habits that keep contradicting your prayers.

Renounce the belief that becoming a better version of yourself requires permission from anyone else.

And when you do, don't just celebrate what you've walked away from. Celebrate the person you are becoming.

Because sometimes the greatest evidence of transformation isn't what you acquire.

It's what you finally have the courage to release.

I am HER. Not because I have arrived at perfection, but because I have accepted the responsibility of becoming.

And baby, this chapter is still being written.

With gratitude, grace, and a whole lot of growth,

LaTesha Monique
